Bennett Uy

Licensed Acupuncturist + Massage Therapist

Bennett started his training in 2012 at the Pacific College of Health & Science in Chicago and finished in NYC. There, he completed a 2 yr massage program, a 4 yr Chinese medicine program, and subsequently graduated in 2018 with a Masters Degree in Traditional East Asian Health Sciences.

Bennett is trained in the clinical application of massage, acupuncture, and herbal medicine to treat the body. He specializes in the treatment of pain whether from athletic performance, injury, or post-surgical recovery. He has also worked extensively in treating female related issues such as PCOS, irregular/painful menstruation, and fertility issues. Other issues addressed by Chinese medicine include insomnia, digestive issues, stress disorders, and more!

Bennett is a strong believer in the combinations of therapies to achieve best results. Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in conjunction with Western medicine can form a truly balanced and well-rounded treatment plan. He believes that a pragmatic approach will always work best and that Chinese Medicine doesn’t hold all the answers — but it can be used to harmonize multiple approaches.

Chinese Medicine & Manual Therapy

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) uses many different tools and techniques to treat the body including acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, cupping, and moxibustion.

Acupuncture utilizes sterile, hair-thin needles to painlessly stimulate key points in the body. These acupuncture points have been mapped by practitioners of Chinese medicine over millennia. Acupuncture has an effect on connective tissue that runs throughout the body.

Bennett’s massage style is entirely his own but he combines his training of few different styles including Tui Na, shiatsu, craniosacral, and Swedish. He believes that massage should work all layers of tissue — therefore, all massage should be deep tissue when applicable.
